Work to remove a small number of large trees next to the navigation will take place during Thursday 20th September. While the trees are being felled you may be asked to moor up for a short period of time until it is safe to pass the work site. Any stoppage will be temporary and of short duration.
The trees are alders situated on the perched embankment between the navigation and main river 4m below the level of the navigation cut. The trees are being removed to safeguard the stability of the vulnerable perched embankment and reduce the risk of a breach in the bank.
