The following lock closures are planned to take place during January and February 2018

Newark Lock: lock gate replacements, full dewater of upper external head walls, repairs & engineering inspection

Our contract civil engineers have been unable to visit site as planned to undertake our principle engineering inspection due to emergency commitments elsewhere.  As it may be a considerable period of time (years) until Newark Lock is detwatered again we have extended the stoppage to ensure our engineers can visit and undertake this important survey.

The National Trust apologises  for any inconvenience this may cause but the extra few days are vary much worth it to receive a detail up to date technical report about the lock to help plan and fund our future work programme.

08.00hrs Monday 22nd January until 08.00hrs Thursday 15th February 2018

Work programme and schedule subject to change due to weather and flood events.  For further information please contact the Navigation Office
